Man ends his life by jumping in front of Delhi Metro


Delhi MetroA 50-year-old man reportedly ended his life by jumping in front of a metro train on March 20. The incident happened at Azadpur metro station.

The man, a resident of model town has been identified as Ishwar Prasad. He had been working in a gas company from the last 10 years. A suicide note recovered from his body indicated dispute with his employer as a reason behind the act. There are indications that he was not satisfied with his working conditions.

The incident happened at 8 am when the man jumped in front of a train coming from Haiderpur. The incident caused delay to the service of the trains which travel on the yellow line. It also caused great inconvenience to the office-goers as the incident happened during office hours.

He was taken to the hospital but he was declared brought dead. The body has been taken for post-mortem for further investigation.

A data by CISF (Central Industrial Security Force) reveals that 88 people tried to commit suicide in 2016, however, 12 people lost their lives.

CISF saved lives of 11 people while they were attempting to end their lives. Commuters have also saved lives of 20 people.
