The grandson of the father of the nation Mahatma Gandhi, Kanubhai Ramdas Gandhi, is forced to stay at Guru Vishram Vridh Ashram – Sheows – an old age home in New Delhi. According to home sources, Kanubhai and his wife, Shiva Lakshmi Gandhi arrived at the Ashram on May 8.

Kanubhai was born to Ramdas Gandhi, who is the third son of Mahatma Gandhi, and Nirmala Gandhi. In 1961, Kanubhai moved to the US and attended the Massachussetts Institute of Technology, where he studied applied mathematics before he worked for the government in the aeronautics field. He then worked at Boston University. In 1994, he moved to Hampton and joined NASA Langley Research Center.

Before arriving in Delhi, the couple was living in another old age home in Surat, Gujarat.
