Congress President Sonia Gandhi on Friday said ‘let him say what he wants’ , when asked about Modi’s criticism that democracy cannot function at the “whims and fancies of anyone”.

On Thursday, PM Modi expressed his displeasure over the Parliament logjam related to the National Herald case, saying it is a “matter of sorrow” that disruption of House was blocking key Bills like the GST.

PM Modi said, democracy “cannot be restricted to elections and government only” and everyone must feel that he or she is working for the country’s progress.

He further added that, “I want to make India’s development journey a ‘mass movement'” and that, “everyone must feel he or she is working for India’s progress”.

Modi said people only talk about GST and parliament but there are also several other measures for the poor, which are currently pending.
