The weeklong event to celebrate the valour and spirit of Kargil heroes was organised by the Indian Army and Select CityWalk Mall, Saket. A 22-feet tall soldier made of ornamental bullet shells and the launch of a book on ParamVir Chakra awardee Captain Vikram Batra were highlights of the event. Veterans and families of the martyrs, who were present there, were full of praise for the initiative. The attendees wrote postcards to the Indian soldiers, thanking them for their efforts.

For the first time, students of Army Public School, Dhaula Kuan, participated in the event. The school, after all, is the alma mater of many Kargil heroes, including Capt Vijyant Thapar.
The school organised a flag march at India Gate and paid a dance tribute to martyrs. Appearing like a flash mob at the mall, they portrayed the Kargil operation in their own way.
