Amid fresh spurt of violence in the Valley, Jammu and Kashmir Chief Minister Mehbooba Mufti on April 24 met Prime Minister Narendra Modi. She pressed for dialogue as the state witnessed deteriorating law and order situation.
While addressing reporters after the meeting, Mufti who is under attack in the face of a fresh spurt in violence in Kashmir said, the state government is taking measures to curb incidents of stone pelting in the valley.
“There is no option but to talk,” she said.
Apart from telling the Prime Minister that the Centre needs to seriously think about the welfare of the state, the J&K chief minister also discussed the matter of Indus water treaty with him.
“There are some youths who are disillusioned, others are being incited. Will work out something in Unified Command Meet tomorrow,” she added.
