Kapil Mishra succeeds arrested JS Tomar, as Delhi’s Law Minister. Karwal Nagar MLA Mishra, is also the Vice Chairman of the Delhi Jal Board, the municipal body that supplies piped water in the national capital. Aam Aadmi Party spokesperson Ashutosh, confirmed to TEHELKA about Mishra’s appointment.
Mishra has been a long time political activist and has worked with organistions like Greenpeace and Amensty International. His entire election campaign was based on lack of sewers and cleanliness in his constituency.
Mishra’s appointment has come after the arrest and subsequent resignation JS Tomar, last night, who has now been taken to Faizabad, by Delhi Police, for physical verification.
Earlier in the day, Ashutosh said that, ‘don’t be surprised if AAP leaders are killed in road accident.’ He took to the micro-blogging site Twitter to vent his anger, towards the Centre. He tweeted: “Those who oppose Modi govt have to pay the price. Tomorrow don’t be surprised if AAP leaders are killed in road accidents. But we will fight.”
Meanwhile, senior Congress leader Digvijaya Singh too has raised concerns over the arrest of JS Tomar and has declared it to be ‘an act of vendetta’. He tweeted: “Arrest of Jitender Singh Tomar, Law Minister, by Delhi Police, is an act of vendetta. Is he the only one who has forged his Educational Degrees?”
