The woman was stabbed several times on the abdomen, neck, face and hands by the accused, who was handed over to the police by the public after thrashing him.
Pinki, 32, who worked at a beauty parlour in Rohini, was on her way to work when the incident took place. Even before passersby could react, the accused, Jitender, an autorickshaw driver, had done his job.
The woman, who is a resident of Sirhaul village, was rushed to the Civil Hospital where the doctors was declared her brought dead.
Jitender, 26, has been stalking her from some time, said the deceased’s husband Man Singh. He said that the accused would frequently call her and threaten to take her away from me, according to media reports.
The accused had an altercation with Man Singh two months ago on the issue, but the matter was not reported to the police.
Minutes before the attack, Pinki had called up Man Singh and told him that the accused was following her.
The accused, Jitender, was waiting for her near a store and pulled out a knife and attacked her in front of other commuters.
According to the police, the deceased married Man Singh three years ago after divorcing her first husband.
