India’s second largest airline Jet Airways launched a limited period offer of discount up to 30 percent on base fares on its premier and economy-class tickets for travel beyond September 14. The special fares would be available for passengers who book their tickets from June 1 till June 4.
The private carrier airline said the offers are applicable for the airline’s flights to the Gulf, SAARC, ASEAN, Europe, the US and Canada regions. The discounted ticket scheme is also valid for Jet Airways strategic partner Etihad’s flights from its Abu Dhabi gateway for Middle East, Europe and North America, a company release said.
Jet Airways’ chief commercial officer Raj Sivakumar said: “Jet Airways’ guests can now avail of this very attractive global fares offer to plan their international travel in advance, given the flexibility and long-term validity.” He said the airline offers a choice of over 140 international destinations onboard its flights as well as that of Etihad. “We are confident that this will prove to be extremely popular with our guests given its unmatched value and benefits,” Sivakumar added.
The Jet Airways was incorporated as an air taxi operator on 1 April 1992. The Airline started commercial operations on 5 May 1993 with a fleet of four leased Boeing 737-300 aircraft from Malaysia Airlines. In January 1994 a change in the law enabled Jet Airways to apply for scheduled airline status, which was granted on 4 January 1995.
