After hours of being hounded by the Gaya police, Bihar’s Janata Dal (United) MLC Manorma Devi gave in and led the police to in her husband’s dairy farm in Mastpura village where her son was hiding.
Rocky Yadav is accused of gunning down Aditya Sachdeva, a Class 12 student, on the 7 May evening.
SIT members led by Superintendent of Police Awakash Kumar raided the MLC’s AP Colony residence on 9 May evening and recovered several bottles of foreign liquor.
The police made it clear to the MLC that they have been given a free hand by the government to do whatever is required to nab Rocky.
Police sources said, when she was told that she too could be arrested for harbouring a criminal and concealing evidence, she gave in.
That threat worked. As she was being worn down by the pressure, the MLC consulted her well wishers and lawyers who advised against prolonging the drama. They told her that Rocky would ultimately have to submit himself to the law of the land .
It was then that Manorama Devi gave in. She quietly got into car a little after two am on 10 May and led the police to Mastpura village from where Rocky was arrested.
Meanwhile, there has been a jump of 20 percent in crime between November and April as against between July and October 2015 in the third term of Nitish Kumar.
