The Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) on April 3 called for a thorough investigation to ascertain as to what forced the Jadavpur University to raise calls for azaadi of J&K, Nagaland and Mizoram.
They also protested against the Rashtriya Swayamsevak Sangh and UP Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath.
The BJP stated that it was a pity that these parties continue with their attempts to poison the young minds. This is an act against the national interest, it added. It held those Left-leaning parties responsible for poisoning the youths’ minds.
Calls for ‘azaadi’ were heard for the second time this year at the Jadavpur University campus where students reportedly put up banners against the RSS and Adityanath.
A video which went viral showing the students purportedly from the Kolkata university shouting slogans for ‘azaadi’. The sloganeering reportedly took place outside the Academy of Fine Arts on April 2.
In the video, students can be seen holding placards that call Yogi Adityanath the ‘new Trump’. Slogans of ‘azaadi’, ‘Halla Bol’ and ‘RSS door hatao’ can also be heard.
