Indrani Mukerjea, her former husband Sanjeev Khanna and driver Shyamwar Rai were produced before the sessions court of a special CBI court with regard to conversations between the trio before Sheena Bora’s murder in 2012.
The Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI) had sought permission of the trio to interrogate them for period three weeks. It was their conversations before Sheena’s murder the CBI was more interested in.
Indrani, Sheena’s biological mother, was in poor health and had to be helped a bad state, and had to be helped constables. The trio was remanded to judicial custody till 17 December.
Informing the court, special public prosecutor Kavita Patil said the CBI received FSL reports about the chats exchanged between Indrani, Khanna and Rai, prior to Sheena’s death.
Meanwhile, the three accused moved an application before the court seeking statements, recorded by the witnesses and accused before the magistrate under section 164 of the Criminal Procedure Code.
The court has adjourned the hearing of the application. Now it will be heard on 8 December after which the court arrive at a decision.
Sheena was allegedly murdered by Indrani with the assistance of Khanna and driver Rai. The CBI also arrested Peter Mukerjea, Indrani’s husband, over financial point of view, if any.
