The Sheena Bora murder case is a Pandora’s box, and reveals twists at every turn. The latest, is a letter, allegedly sent to her landlord, in July 2012, three months after her murder. Sheena’s signature, which was allegedly forged, had sought cancelling her rent agreement.
The CBI, in its chargesheet, narrates how Indrani Mukherjea asked her aide to forge Sheena’s signature on the letter.
An e-mail sent by Rahul Mukerjea to Peter on April 13, 2011, said that, Sheena and him had been threatened by Indrani on several occasions. “We have taken these threats seriously, and therefore I have protected myself and Sheena by documenting this situation, with dates, conversations and messages et al and given to third parties for safe keeping. Should anything happen to us, authorities in India and UK will be made aware.”
Another e-mail was sent from Sheena’s account to Vidhie, nine months after her murder. Investigators believe the e-mail was sent by Indrani, attempting to show that Sheena was alive.
Emails were exchanged between Sheena and her mother Indrani, days before her murder in April 2012. In these e-mails, which CNN-IBN was privy to, Sheena told Indrani, that, she has applied to UK universities to do her Masters, and if she got accepted, she could be there in August or September.
The CBI said, Indrani’s response to Sheena’s emails before the murder are positive, as Indrani was attempting to gain Sheena’s confidence, and lure Sheena into meeting her as she did on April 24, 2012, the date of Sheena’s murder.
Mikhail had also sent e-mails to Indrani in May 2015, asking for money.
Though Sheena, the daughter a of high-profile media professional Indrani Mukerjea, was allegedly murdered in 2012, and her body disposed of in Raigad district, the crime came to light only recently.
