Former Pakistani cricketer-turned-politician Imran and TV journalist Reham have divorced with mutual consent. The duo broke their relationship barely 10 months after they married, earlier this year.
Pakistan Tehreek-i-Insaf spokesperson, Naeemul Haq confirmed that the PTI Chairman, Imran Khan, and wife Rehman Khan, have divorced, with mutual consent.
“Yes, I can confirm the divorce. Everything has been settled between the two,” he said, adding, “Imran and Reham have requested that the media respect their privacy and avoid speculation.”
“This is a painful time for me & Reham & our families. I would request everyone to respect our privacy,” Imran Khan wrote.
In another post, he said he has the greatest respect for Reham’s moral character & her passion to work for & help the underprivileged.
He also clarified that reports & speculation about financial settlements are absolutely false and shameful.
The report came in the wake of rumours that the cricketer-turned-politician did not approve of her meddling in political affairs. Khan’s marriage to Reham was his second after his first marriage with English heiress Jemima Goldsmith, which lasted for nine years, eventually ending in divorce, in June 2004.
