An Indian Air Force’s (IAF) Jaguar fighter aircraft crashed at Naini area of Allahabad. The crash happened when the aircraft was on a training sortie.

As both the pilots ejected safely, no loss of life has been reported.  A court of inquiry to probe the crash has been ordered, reads an IAF statement.

“Fortunately, the pilots ejected safely. Other things like the probable cause are to be assessed,” said Defence spokesman Group Captain B B Pande. The aircraft was crashed n a piece of uninhabited land near a warehouse of Food Corporation of India at Naini, about 50 kms from the Indian Air Force’s Central Air Command at Bamrauli on the outskirts of the city from where it had taken off at 7:25 AM.

According to police, fire brigade was rushed to Chaka under Naini police station area of the district’s trans-Yamuna region after it was reported that the aircraft had crashed.
