According to police officials, “Shaymanonda Das was preparing for the morning prayer in the temple and while coming back to home, three men arrived on a bike and killed him with a machete and ran away.
Shaymanonda Das in his 50’s served the Madan Gopal Temple for the last three years in the country having the Muslim majority.
Bangladesh witnessed another such case of killing the Hindu priest, secular bloggers, publishers, writers, Buddhist monks, Christian pastors and even foreigners. Also, more than 40 people have been hacked to death in Bangladesh since February 2013. Jhinaidah SP Sheikh Altaf Hossain informed media that this seems to be the similar case of killing by the local militants but no arrest has been made so far.
Also in recent cases, Islamic State has claimed responsibility for recent killings but the Bangladeshi government denies the presence of Islamic State in the country.
