The Rajasthan State Human Rights Commission (RSHRC) has issued a notice to Rajasthan Police and local authorities seeking a detailed report of the car accident involving actor cum politician Hema Malini, which killed a five-year-old girl, near Dausa recently.

The commission on 7 July issued notices to the superintendent of police and district chief medical and health officer based on media reports in which Hanuman Mahajan, victim’s father, had said that, his daughter’s life could have been saved had she been rushed to a private hospital along with Malini, said RSHRC member MK Devrajan.

Meanwhile, Hema Malini tweeted on 8 July and held the father responsible for the road accident, saying it could have been averted had Mahajan followed traffic rules.

“How I wish the girl’s father had followed the traffic rules – thn this accident could have been averted & the lil one’s life safe!(sic),” she tweeted.

Earlier, Esha Deol said, “When accident took place, my mother as well as the family was not in a condition to comprehend anything, but we are sad that a family has lost a dear one.”

“When the accident accurred, my mother was asleep. She had told everyone to wear their seat belts. But suddenly there was a jolt from the back. The accident was bad..It was traumatic so no one was in a state to talk…or think anything,” she said.

Esha Deol informed that Hema Malini has been advised rest for now.
