Targeting education sector and business meetings, Google in collaboration with technology giant Asus has launched the new Chromebox for meetings. It will cost Rs. 90000. The new systems will provide for smooth running of High-definition video including Full HD 1080p video camera meetings and it will create a virtual conference room which many can participate from different places.
The Chrome box is a personal computer with operating system Chrome of Google and it is a variant of Chromebox laptop. It is powered by a fourth-generation Intel Core i7-4600U processor coupled with Intel HD Graphics 4400 and 4GB RAM. The connectivity options include Wi-Fi 802.11 a/b/g/n, Bluetooth v4.0, 2-in-1 card reader, 2 x USB 3.0, HDMI, RJ45 LAN, DC-in port, display port, and audio jack.
“The Chromebook was launched in India a year ago. Now we are launching three new Chromebooks,” Smita Hashim, global product manager, Chrome OS said.
The company has also launched two Chromebooks at the price of Rs 12,999 each, after teaming up with Xolo and Nexian. Google also plans a third Chromebook from Google, but it will be launched in a couple of months.
Using gmail account, 15 participants can join video meeting from other conference rooms through laptops or smartphones. It has a full QWERTY keypad on rear and a microphone with speaker with a wideband frequency response.
