The incident came to light on September 27 when the police were informed by the maids who were at the deceased’s house. The police have sent the bodies for autopsy.
A case was filed by the Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI) against the former director general of Corporate Affairs for accepting Rs 9 lakh from a Mumbai-based pharmaceuticals company for trying to scuttle a probe. He was also caught accepting the bribe.
The CBI had raided his residence in this connection. According to media reports, in July, two days after Bansal was arrested, his wife and daughter had ended their lives. According to the separate suicide notes, the mother-daughter duo had decided to end their lives humiliated by the CBI raids. They held nobody responsible for their deaths.
