After delivering rocks, bricks and empty boxes to customers, online shopping portal, Flipkart has now delivered a bar of soap instead of a smartphone.
A case of cheating has been registered against Flipkart at Mumbai’s Malabar Hill police station after a parcel containing a bar of Nirma soap and an Android phone charger was delivered instead of Samsung Galaxy Note 4 to a customer.
Anand Bhalakia, a resident of Walkeshwar, said, “I had ordered a smartphone, Samsung Galaxy Note 4, on 25 May and when the product the product was delivered on 30 May. I paid the delivery body Rs 29,900,” added Bhalakia.
When contacted, Flipkart customer care service told Bhalakia that his complaint was fake after which filed a case against Flipkart at Malabar Hill police station. After initially refusing a refund, Flipkart has now refunded Bhalakia his money after the police complaint.
“We observe zero tolerance policy on incidents that impact customer trust. We are conducting an internal probe into this case and are putting all efforts to find out the real facts of this incident,” said Flipkart.
The police said that they will also take delivery boy’s statement. The investigation is on.
