An FIR has been lodged against AAP MLA Dinesh Mohaniya from Sangam Vihar constituency by a woman. She claims that he misbehaved with a group of women, including herself, who had gone to the MLA’s office to discuss the problem of water shortage in their locality.
The case has been recorded under Section 506 (criminal intimidation), Section 509 (Word, gesture or act intended to insult the modesty of a woman) and Section 323 (punishment for voluntarily causing hurt) of the Indian Penal Code at the Neb Sarai Police Station.
Immediately, the irate women reached Neb Sarai police station and lodged an FIR against the MLA for outraging their modesty.
“He pushed me and other women and even abused us. We want that an FIR should be registered against him and he should be arrested,” said the complainant.
On his part, Mohaniya denying the charges, said the woman had been visiting his office for the past three to four days regarding access to bore water.
It may be noted Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal had appointed Mohaniya as the vice chairman of Delhi Jal Board.
Meanwhile, it has not yet been clarified whether the incident took place on 22 June evening or 23 June morning.
