In the bizarre case of farmer suicide in the AAP rally, the ruling Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP)  protests against the Aam Aadmi Party government outside the Delhi Police headquarters demanding appropriate action as Congress members protest outside Delhi Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal’s residence.

The incident also causes outrage in the parliament as opposition leaders demanded a statement from PM Narendra Modi. “We want the PM to make a statement on the issue in the floor of a House,” said Congress leader Ghulam Nabi Azad.

In Lok Sabha, CPI leader MB Rajesh asks Prime Minister Narendra Modi to come out of the social networking site Twitter. “This isn’t suicide, this is homicide and the culpability lies with the government… Request the PM to come out of Twitter and see the ground reality,” he said.

BSP leader Mayawati said the incident could have been stopped. The farmer could have been stopped from committing suicide, AAP leaders should have been proactive, she said.

We have submitted a report to the Home Ministry. We will look into the matter and whatever needs to do will be done, Delhi Police Commissioner BS Bassi said.

Meanwhile, Bollywood heartthrob Shah Rukh Khan asks to stop blame game. “Nobody kills themselves 2 end their life, they do so 2 end the pain.” Take a moment,feel the pain not look for gain & stop the blame game!,” Khan tweeted.

The deceased farmer Gajendra Singh has been cremated in his native village in Dausa district of Rajasthan. Slogans “Gajendra ka balidaan yaad karega Hindustan”, “Jai Jawan, Jai Kisan” are heard during the funeral.

Gajendra Singh, a farmer from Rajasthan had committed suicide by hanging himself on a tree in Jantar Mantar in the presence of Delhi Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal during a rally. Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) had staged the rally to protest against the controversial land acquisition bill. He was taken to hospital just after the incident, where the doctor pronounced him brought dead.
