Tremors felt in Delhi, North India as 7.2 magnitude strikes Tajikistan

An earthquake shook buildings in the New Delhi-NCR and adjoining areas in North India at around 1:25 pm on Monday.

The quake also hit Afghanistan and Pakistan.

The epicenter of the quake is reportedly in Tajikistan where the magnitude was measured at 7.2.

It was 111 km southwest of Karakul at a depth of 28.7 km. Operations Head, Centre For Seismology also confirmed to ANI, “Epicentre was Tajikistan. Was felt in many regions of North India.”

In some parts of north Indian states, people evacuated buildings, after tremors were felt.

As per the initial report, there are no immediate reports of casualties or destruction.
