As if Opinion poll results were not enough, the BJP it seems is in for another face-saving exercise. In what could lead to a major embarrassment for the BJP ahead of Delhi assembly poll results, recently joined party leader contesting from Okhla Brahma Singh Bidhuri, who defected from BSP days before the day of voting has been caught in a controversy relating to casting of fake votes. Brahma Singh Bidhuri’s brother is Bir Singh, the former deputy mayor of South Corporation. Bir Singh’s daughter-in-law Sagun Bidhuri was caught red handed casting fake vote in Okhla constituency, Sarita Vihar, today.
The complaint was made by a woman who objected to Sagun casting a vote in her name in favor of Brahma Singh Bidhuri. The lady complained to the authorities and even the security at the polling station. The complainant was threatened by the Brahma Singh’s relatives after which she headed to the police station.
The accused lady was taken to the Sarita Vihar police station as well. When the SHO was approached for details in the inquiry, he attempted to play down the incident. Delhi elections 2015 have been conducted without any report of wrongdoings but for this particular attempt to cast fake vote by a BJP candidate’s relative.
