In yet another shocking incident, a 21-year-old youth has been allegedly killed by burning alive by a former village head and family members. The boy, according to report, was killed over some old rivalry.

Kehar Singh, father of the victim, alleged that his son was killed by former village head Ram Swarup and his family members. His son was poured kerosene, he said, and set him on fire.

However, according to police’s initial investigations, Rajathad allegedly poured kerosene on himself. Police added that the victim succumbed to his injuries on Wednesday in a hospital at Mullana near Yamunanagar.

A brawl took place between the two Dalit families on October 5, in which Rajat’s mother was injured, police said. “Rajat was arrested after the clash, but was later released on October 20.”

Police booked six persons under various sections of IPC and a forensic team visited the site and collected evidences. RamSwarup, his wife Mukhtayri Devi, their three sons – Chander Bhan, Vindo Kumar and Gopal – and Ram Swarup’s brother Tara Chand were booked in the case.
