Following the shocking incident where two children were burnt alive in Faridabad, Union Home Minister Rajnath Singh has asked Haryana Chief Minister Manohar Lal Khattar to ensure security in the area, to prevent such unfortunate incidents, from occurring in the future.
According to reports, the Haryana CM assured a speedy probe and announced financial assistance of Rs 10 lakh to the victims’ family, along with forming a special team to probe the incident.
The Home Ministry has also sought a report from the state administration.
On Tuesday, two dalit toddlers were charred to death while their parents were reported to be critical. The house of the Dalit family in Faridabad district of Haryana was set on fire by unidentified people after dousing them with petrol.
Jitender, his wife Rekha, four-year-old son Vaibhav, and eight-month-old daughter Divya, were admitted in General Hospital, Ballabgarh, and then were reffered to Delhi’s Safdarjung hospital, police said.
“The two minors, Vaibhav, 2, and Divya, 9 months, succumbed to burn injuries. Jitender and his wife Rekha also sustained burn injuries,” said a police spokesman in Chandigarh.
Three of the 11 accused involved in the heinous act have been arrested. 11 people have been booked for murder, attempt to murder, and other sections of the Indian Penal Code (IPC), and SC/ST Act.
