In yet another attack on Salwa Judum members by Naxals, Errabore  Sarpanch M Mukka was killed today in Chhattisgarh. He was travelling to Errabore from Dornapal on a bike when the Naxals shot him dead at around 4.30 pm. Mukka was accosted by Naxals at Asirguda, on NH 30, the same route where Naxals Congress leaders were attacked recently.

In a note claiming responsibility for the deadly attacks on Congress leaders a few days back, Maoists said that their attacks were aimed at punishing senior-party leaders for their ‘anti-people’ policies. They also claimed that they wanted to avenge the atrocities on innocent tribals and tribal women during the Salwa Judum (an anti-Naxal vigilante movement) reign.

On 25 May, Heavily armed Maoists ambushed a convoy of Congress leaders and killed twenty-seven people, including Nand Kumar Patel and ex-UP MLA Uday Mudliyar, besides leaving thirty-six others injured. Salwa Judum founder Mahendra Karma was among the 27 people killed when the Naxals ambushed the convoy of Congress leaders in Bastar district of Chhattisgarh.
