BJYM leader announces reward of 11 lakh for Mamata Banerjee’s head

The threat comes after reported lathi charge in Birbhum district to disperse crowds raising the slogans of “Jai Shri Ram” on Hanuman Jayanti.

“Those who will cut and bring West Bengal Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee head, I will give that person Rs.11 lakh. Mamata Banerjee never allows Saraswati Puja, fairs during Ram Navami and during Hanuman Jayanti procession, people were lathi charged and brutally beaten up. She organizes Iftar party and always supports Muslims,” the BJYM leader said.

The Birbhum police had already warned the Bir Hanuman Jayanti organisers against holding any rally or procession in district centre Suri on April 11 which was Hanuman Jayanti.  The organisers had asked for the police’s permission to carry out the rally and assured them that they would not carry any arms. However, the police had denied their request.

Regardless of the ban, thousands of people had gathered for the rally raising slogans of “Jai Shri Ram” and carryied saffron flags, the police resorted to lathi charge to disperse the crowd.

However, Union minister Mukhtar Abbas Naqvi said in the Parliament “I condemn this type of statement. The state government can take proper action.”
