What had started as a “ tense contest” with the Nitish-Lalu and Congress grand alliance, having a marginal edge, the BJP, according to the punters, has gained significant ground, thanks to the solid preparations made by president Amit Shah, in Bihar to ensure the saffron party’s victory in the Bihar polls. This was made nearly possible in a record time of no more than 15 days.
Within a fortnight of entering the “tense contest, the Bharatiya Janata Party-led National Democratic Alliance has gained significant ground in the “tense contest”, according to punters.
Till last month, the forecast of the satta market was that BJP was lagging behind Bihar chief minister Nitish Kumar and his alliance. The betting market was offering 1 rupee 10 paisa on every rupee bet on BJP winning the Bihar Assembly elections.
It was said that BJP might collapse with a 100 seat count. Thought not a significant lead, the bookies were holding the grand alliance of Nitish-Lalu and Congress in good stead giving them the proverbial “edge”. But within days, the NDA started galloping ahead, leaving little to choose between the BJP-led alliance and its opponents.
