Bihar Journalist Murder Case to be probed by CBI: Nitish Kumar


Rajdeo RanjanTo regard the demands of the family of slain press reporter, Rajdeo Ranjan, Bihar Chief Minister Nitish Kumar told the media that the govt recommended a CBI probe into the murder.

“We have decided to handover the case to the CBI. It will be conveyed to the investigating agency and the Centre,” he told the media after his weekly Janata Durbar.

Rajdeo Ranjan, Siwan bureau chief of a Hindi daily, was shot dead in a market place in Siwan on May 13. The journalist’s family and opposition BJP have demanded a CBI inquiry into it.

Reacting to allegations made by the opposition that “jungle raj” has returned to the state, Nitish Kumar said it was a baseless claim. He asserted that an attack on a journalist was an attack on him and he will request a speedy trial and ensure that the culprits are not spared.
