Bangladesh terrorized on Eid-al-Fitar, 1 cop dead, several others injured



A policeman was killed and 12 others injured in a blast on the morning of June 7 at Sholakia ground in Kishoreganj district of Bangladesh where Eid prayers were about to begin.

According to Bangladesh I&B Minister over three lakh people had gathered to offer prayers on the ground for Eid prayers on the occasion of Eid-al-Fitr which marks the end of holy months of Ramadan for Muslims when some terrorists started throwing petrol bombs.

The main target of the terrorists was Maulana Farid Uddin Masud, who is Imam of Masjid of Sholakia.

Police constable Jahurul Haque, 30, died in the blast which occurred around a kilometer away from the prayer ground.

According to police officials, local home-made bombs were being used by the terrorists.

Reports suggest there was gun-firing at the scene and one of the terrorists died while detonating the bomb.

The terror group ISIS had earlier released a video warning Bangladesh of more terror attacks.

No group has yet claimed the responsibility for the attacks. The country has been put on red alert.
