After sweeping the Delhi Assembly Elections 2015 winning 67 out of 70 seats, Aam Aadmi Party national convener Arvind Kejriwal was sworn in as Delhi chief minister at Ramlila Maidan in the national capital. He took oath as chief minister along with six other party leaders who were appointed as Cabinet ministers.
For Kejriwal this is nothing but a fairytale comeback. It is Kejriwal’s second term as Delhi chief minister, after he resigned last February, running a 49-day government in the national capital with the support of Congress. President’s Rule was imposed in Delhi on February 17 last year, after Kejriwal resigned as chief minister and President Pranab Mukherjee accepted his resignation.
Among those inducted in the cabinet are Manish Sisodia as Deputy CM, Asim Ahmed Khan, Sandeep Kumar, Satyendra Jain, Gopal Rai and Jitender Singh Tomar.
Elaborate security arrangements have been made as over 30,000 policemen have been deployed across the city. Enthusiastic AAP supporters have thronged the Ramlila Maidan since morning.
