Army foils Pak’s BAT attack, kills two militants

India-borderIndian Army on May 26 killed two terrorists of Pakistan’s Border Action Team (BAT) and foiled an attack on Uri.

An army patrol spotted suspicious movement along the LoC and took up positions, according to officials.

“BAT action against Indian army patrol along the LoC in Uri sector was foiled. Two BAT terrorists killed. Operation continues,” said army’s Srinagar-based spokesman Rajesh Kalia.

According to Defence experts, Pakistan’s Special Services Group forms the core of BAT. It is considered to be a barbaric arm of Pakistan Army. The Indian Army has been bearing its brunt for quite a long time.

“Alert troops foiled a BAT attack on our patrol party in Uri sector today. Two BAT terrorists were killed in the operation,” said an army official.

“The BAT attack was effectively repulsed”, he added.
