Indian Army has intercepted and killed four militants along the Line of Control in Gurez sector, in north Kashmir’s Bandipora district, while they were trying to sneak into the valley from across the border, army said.
The troops posted along the LoC intercepted the militants while they were trying to sneak into the Valley from across. Srinagar-based Defence Spokesman Lt. Col. N. N. Joshi said, “Two more terrorists have been killed in the gunbattle which began post midnight.”
The spokesman said an encounter erupted and during the exchange of fire, four terrorists have been killed so far. “Four AK-47 rifles have been recovered from the site of the encounter and the operation is going on,” adding that the identity of the slain militants has not been ascertained and further details are awaited.
