Army conducts search, one terrorist killed in Poonch

Firing resumed on September 12 in Poonch area of Jammu and Kashmir. According to reports, one terrorist, who is holed up in yesterday’s firing has been killed.

The security personnel have cordoned off the entire area.  The army jawans are conducting searches in the under construction mini secretariat building in Poonch, where the firing took place on September 11 between the terrorists and the security forces.

The jawans are moving inside the building to determine whether any terrorists were still holed up inside there or not, said a police officer. He said that the terrorist started firing when the jawans started conducting searches inside the building.

It may be noted that on September 11, a policeman Rajinder Kumar was killed in the incident. Two Army jawans, two police jawans and a civilian were also injured.

Violence had erupted in several parts of J&K including, Pulwama, Poonch and in Gurez sectors respectively.
