Finally, the new iPhones are here. Apple’s 2015 flagship models—iPhone 6s and iPhone 6s Plus, are out along with an updated Apple TV, a bigger iPad Pro and the iPad mini 4, at its San Francisco event early this week.
It may be noted that pre-orders across 130 countries begin on 13 September and the devices will start selling only from 25 September. Built with 7000 series aircraft-grade aluminium, the company has ensured the smartphones are strong and do not bend.
In the US, the iPhone 6s has been priced at $200 onwards with a two-year contract, while the 6s Plus is available for $300.
While the two smartphones don’t boast of major design changes, yet the company has updated some elements such as improvements in camera, powerful processors and introduced 3D Touch.
Successor to iPhone 6, the 6s features a 4.7-inch Retina display and is powered by a 64-bit A9 chip with embedded M9 motion coprocessor.
The device also features a 12 megapixel iSight camera and a 4K video recording capability at 30fps.
The phone features True Tone Flash and supports Slo-mo video. One of the major overhauls by the company is a 5 megapixel FaceTime camera with Retina Flash. It also comes with HD video recording capability.
A new feature called 3D Touch allows access to frequent tasks by holding down on an icon. This has been introduced with new smartphones. With the features, for instance, it will be possible to update a Facebook status right from the home screen.
Powered by the newest iOS 9; the iPhone 6s offers 14 hours of talktime on 3G and 10 days of standby time. The iPhone 6s and the iPhone 6s Plus support nano-SIM and hence are not compatible with the existing micro-SIM cards.
It also comes with an additional colour choice of Rose Gold, other than the existing Silver, Gold, and Space Grey,
iPhone 6s Plus
The phablet successor comes with a 5.5-inch Retina display and features the updated TouchID. It is also powered by the same advanced chipset as in the iPhone 6s.
The iPhone 6s Plus has the same camera specifications and 3D Touch feature as introduced in the small screened variant. Colour and storage options remain the same as iPhone 6s.
It offers up to 24 hours of talktime on 3G and up to 16 days of standby time. The phone is powered by the newest iOS 9
Apple says the iPhone 6s weighs 143 grams, while iPhone6 s Plus weighs hardly 192 gms. The two smartphones have a thickness of 0.28 inches and 0.29 inches, respectively.
The two devices comes in Silver, Gold, Space Grey and Rose Gold colours, the devices are available in 16 GB, 64 GB, and 128 GB storage options.
