The Aam Aadmi Party rebel leader Yogendra Yadav reacted to the show-cause notice issued to him by his party and called it a joke.”That’s a joke, I thought. Last evening, I had spoken to Mr Waghela, the Chair of Disciplinary Committee. He said he was not in Delhi and had no idea of a possible show cause notice to us except from TV news! As yet, nothing has been referred to him. He couldn’t have dashed down from Goa for Disciplinary Committee Meeting, received the complaint and come to a conclusion within the last 12 hours, I thought,” Yadav said.
Yadav also called it the violation of elementary principle of justice saying that National Disciplinary Committee has not honourably recused itself from this case. He also alleged that contents of the notice were leaked to the media by members of the committee.
The party had issued show-cause notices to rebel leaders Yadav and Prashant Bhushan for alleged anti-party activities, taking the final steps towards their expulsion, even as Yadav questioned the move saying it was against the principle of natural justice.
AAP spokesperson Deepak Bajpai said separate notices have been issued to Yadav, Bhushan, Anand Kumar and Ajit Jha, detailing out a list of charges against them, backed with “evidence”. “They have been asked to respond to it in two days. We have mailed them as well as given a copy by hand,” Bajpai said.
