AAP rebels Prashant Bhushan, Yogendra Yadav and two others were expelled from the Aam Aadmi Party for anti-party activities and “gross indiscipline”. The National Disciplinary Committee took the decision to expel the rebel AAP leaders following the show-cause notice response, which the committee finds unsatisfactory.
The two founder members, Prashant Bhushan and Yogendra Yadav, question their expulsion from the party but indicated that they would not move court against the disciplinary committee decision.
“Ideally we can approach the court against all that they did. The reconstitution of the national disciplinary committee, the removal of Admiral Ramdas as the party Lokpal – everything was illegal. The question is why should we spend our energy in court?”, says Prasant Bhushan.
Prashant Bhushan also slams his former party colleagues and said that “those who have expelled us face serious charges themselves. “Instead of taking action against people who are violating the AAP’s spirit and constitution, action was taken against us,” he said.
He further said that AAP has become a khap panchayat with one leader. There is a dictator in AAP and everybody has to follow him, he added.
Talking about the expulsion, Yogendra Yadav said, “I am not surprised as from the past few days the matter was moving in such direction. Though I also cannot deny the fact that I am hurt by it. How would you feel if someone drags and throws you out of your own house”
