Earthquake in NCR forced people to run out of homes, offices.

At least 275 people have been reportedly killed in Pakistan and 17 in Kabul, Afghanistan.

The high intensity earthquake also shook north India at around 2.40 pm on Monday.

Massive tremors were felt at Delhi NCR, Kashmir, Haryana and Punjab. In NCR, the tremors lasted for around 5 minutes.

According to report, the epicenter was at Hindu Kush region which is about 260 kms north of Peshawar and in a magnitude of 7.5. In many parts of the Delhi NCR, people rushed out of offices and homes.

Delhi metro service halted after the quake.

The quake also triggered panic among people in Ambala, Kurukshetra, Karnal, Panipat, Sonepat, Gurgaon, Rohtak, Faridabad, Panchkula, Fatehabad, Sirsa and Bhiwani.

In Afghanistan, 12 students at a girls’ school died in a stampede while trying to get out of the building.

The earthquake occured at the depth of 190 kms.
