A day after a video showing a Tamil youth attacked in Karnataka went viral on social media, a Karnataka restaurant located in Chennai’s Mylapore area was attacked with petrol bombs early on September 12.
No arrests have been made so far in this regard.
According to the staff of the restaurant, 10 miscreants in an autorickshaw entered New Woodlands Hotel and hurled six petrol bombs at the restaurant.
Shouting slogans against Karnataka, they started breaking the window panes and damaging the tables in the restaurant.
As many as 15 security personnel were present at the hotel when the attack took place. Police investigation is still underway.
The police found a one-page letter at the site, which stated if Tamils were targeted in Karnataka, petrol bombs would continue to be thrown at Karnataka-based outlets in Tamil Nadu.
