Fire broke out at the ‘Bakes and Cakes’ outlet on the ground floor of a nine-storey building

Six employees of a bakery were charred to death as they were sleeping in the wee hours of December 30 in Kondhwa Budruk area of Pune.

Short circuit is suspected to the cause of the fire.

The fire, which was not very big, broke out at the ‘Bakes and Cakes’ outlet on the ground floor of a nine-storey building.

The owner of the bakery had apparently locked the doors of the outlet from the outside and employees, who were sleeping inside, failed to rescue themselves and were burnt in the process. All the victims were aged between 20 and 27 years.
