3 jawans injured as terrorists attack army camp in Nagrota


army1Terrorists attacked a military camp in Nagrota area in Jammu and Kashmir (J&K) early November 27 injuring three jawans, according to media reports.

The attack reportedly started around 4 am when the terrorists stormed the army’s field regiment camp at located in Nagrota near the headquarters (HQ) of 16 Corps in the state.

As per media reports, two to three suicide attackers were believed to be hiding in the area, as result of the heavy exchange of fire between the terrorists and security personnel.

According to unconfirmed media reports, one of the terrorists has also been killed in the firing by security personnel.

Nagrota is the HQ of the 16 Corps personnel who defend the country’s borders and fights terrorists in the Jammu region.

Entering the army camp dressed in army fatigues, the terrorists started by lobbing grenades left and right at the military camp in Nagrota, 20 km from Jammu and later opened fire. Around two to three terrorists are believed to be hiding in the area.

While traffic has been stopped on the highway, the Indian Army has since the attack has cordoned off the area and closed down all schools in the region.

In a second incident, the Border Security Force  intercepted a group of terrorists attempting to cross over the border at Ramgarh in Samba sector. According to latest media reports, firing between the two sides is still on.
