In a recent addition to the attacks on Indians living abroad, two engineers have been reportedly kidnapped by suspected terrorists in Gboko, a town in north-central Nigeria.

According to reports, Mangipudi Sai Srinivas (44), a civil engineer and his colleague Anish Sharma were kidnapped on June 29, at around 0730 hrs when they were travelling in a convoy of three cars from their residential quarters to their workplace, Dangote Cement Plc plant.

It is being said that both the Indians were in the last car of the convoy and were at the traffic signal when the incident occurred. Soon after the first two cars crossed the signal, a group of armed men surrounded their car, dragged the driver out and took the engineers away.

Family members of Srinivas approached the Vishakhapatnam district collector, N Yuvraj and requested him to take necessary steps to get them released.
